Dutch Marine Corps General. Served as an officer in The Royal Dutch Marine Corps from 1949 to 1983. He was promoted to General-Major on January 9, 1980 and was in this rank Commander of the Royal Dutch Marine Corps until February 11, 1983. He was member of the High Military Court, and a Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion, Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau, Bearer New Guinea Memory Cross, United Nations Medal (Palestine), Memory Medal United Nations Operations and Commander in the Legion of Merit (USA).
