Poet. He was a Hungarian Poet, who was the founder of the literary periodical NYUGAT. Besides being a poet, he was a novelist, essayist, and a translator. His poems are well known for their intense religious themes. He was a pacifist. After attending the University of Budapest from 1901 to 1905, he taught school in various places, but his reputation as an author soon began in 1907. He married a poet. He died of cancer. His grave marker is a work of art. A statue of a pensive poet is sitting in the courtyard of the museum, which was his birth place. There are several statue and plaques dedicated to him through the country.
