Controversial death. He was a scientist at the Central Intelligence Agency top secret Operations Division at Fort Detrick, where he developed bioweapons. It is said that he knew too much and was assassinated by being dropped from a hotel window after having been given the drug LSD without his knowledge in a mind control experiment. The initial reports were that he had been depressed and committed suicide, but after years of probing, his family received an official apology from President Gerald Ford. Although no charges were ever filed, a homicide case was finally opened in 1996 by a Manhattan district attorney.
