Singer, Songwriter Actor. Born Clarence Robert Nobles, he composed the western classics "Cool Water" and "Tumbling Tumbleweeds". Along with Roy Rogers and Tim Spencer he co-founded the western singing group the Sons of the Pioneers, for which he was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980.
