Artist. Born in Ontario, Canada she immigrated to the United States in 1964 with her husband and son and became a U.S. citizen. She lived and studied art in the Carolinas, the Pacific Northwest, the San Francisco Bay area and Southern California. Her world travels included Asia, Australia and Europe as well as the Mediterranean and Caribbean. The last seven years of her life she lived in Fallbrook, California where she maintained a working studio. Joan spent the last 20 years working in the transparent watercolor medium. Prior to that she was already an accomplished artist in oils. She was a member of the Fallbrook Art Association and had also served on its' board. She was a signature member of both the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society and had served on the board of directors of the NWS. At the time of her death she was President-elect of the NWS. Internationally recognized for her watercolors, her art is in corporate and private collections throughout the western world and selected works have been archived by the Smithsonian Institute.
