Poet. Born Frances Isabel Parnell, she was outspoken and sharp witted. She promoted the Irish Revolutionary movement with her articles and poems. With her brother, Irish political leader Charles Stewart Parnell, she espoused land reform in Ireland. She worked tirelessly for the Famine Relief Committee and was spokesperson for the New York Ladies Land League which was formed in 1880. Her most well known poems are "Hold the Harvest" and "After Death."
