Professional Football Player. After graduating from Aurora East High School, he enrolled at Indiana University in 1916. War took him out of school, but when he returned, he became a starting end at Indiana. He was elected captain of the team in 1922. After graduating, he played for eight seasons in the National Football League from 1923 to 1930. He spent most of his years with the Chicago Bears, but also played for Providence, Green Bay, and Portsmouth. He is credited with being the first player to ever get ejected from an NFL game, a questionable distinction.
