U.S. Congresswoman. She attended Whitworth College Washington and was self-employed as a medical and legal management consultant, (1964-75). Moving to Idaho, in 1975, she was manager of the Northside Medical Center Orofino, Idaho and state executive director of the Idaho Republican party, 1977-78). She was also chief of staff, then campaign manager, to Representative Steven D. Symms, co-owner, Consulting Associates, Incorporated and a guest lecturer at the University of Idaho School of Law. In 1995, she was elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourth Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 2001. During her final term, she married rancher and author Wayne Hage in 1999. After leaving Congress, she moved to Hage's Nevada ranch and continued to be active in public issues until her death from traffic accident at age 68.
