He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Detroit Pistons from 1962 to 1967 and the New York Knicks from 1968 to 1974. He was a member of both of the New York Knicks NBA championship teams. He played Major League Baseball as a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox from 1962 to 1963. His Knicks jersey Number 22 was retired by the team.
