Luke apparently took a common-law wife in the mid-1790's and to them only one child, Phillipa, was born who survived infancy and even for her no baptismal record is found. His common-law wife died when Phillipa was a small child and Luke remarried at St Agnes on 2 Oct 1806 to Grace Webb of that parish. They settled at Luke's abode in St Gluvias and there had three sons and three daughters. It was noted on a daughter's baptismal record in 1816 that Luke was a farmer.
He died on 19 Nov 1822, aged 53, and was buried at St Gluvias. His widow Grace moved into Penryn where she lived on until 1864 and was herself buried at St Gluvias.
