Funeral services for Quinnies "Pete" Lay, 87, of Lincoln February 26, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau. Burial in the Lexington Cemetery with military honors provided by the Lexington American Legion.

Pete was born on April 24, 1929, in Lexington, Texas, to Ross & Mary (Theiss) Lay. He was united in marriage to Ida Mae Copus on October 8, 1951, in Pecos, Texas. Their union was blessed with three daughters, Linda, Debrah, and Wanda.

Pete was employed by Alcoa and was a Crane Operator. Pete served our country in the Army from March 22, 1948 until he was honorably discharged on March 21, 1952 as a Seargent. Pete was a member of the American Legion in Lexington. Pete enjoyed playing with his dogs, fishing, hunting, gardening, working on small engines and spending time with his family and friends.

Pete passed away the evening of Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Renaissance Villa Nursing Home in Rockdale.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Wanda Sue Lay, three brothers, Marcus Lay, Richard Lay, and Bill Lay, and one sister Laura Boyd.

Pete was survived by his daughters, Linda and Debrah, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
