William Hackney was an Army veteran who served in the 101st Airborne division and received a Bronze Star during Vietnam. At the time of his discharge he was eligibel to wear the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal as well as his designation as a rifle expert and his combat infantry badge.

Life

Mr. Hackney was an avid golfer and could fix just about anything. He worked as a computer programmer for many years with American Marketing and Mailing Services.

A private memorial will be held by the family of Mr. Hackney and his remains will be scattered in the mountains of West Virginia which was his favorite place.
