Wesley “Wes” Robert Reishus, age 70 of Buffalo died May 7, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be Monday May 9, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Further visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 2 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 9300 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello. Rev. Jedidiah Scharmer and Rev. Lee Evenson will officiate. There will be a private interment. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Wes was born on April 17, 1941 in Granite Falls, MN to Theron and Helen (Bjornebo) Reishus. He grew up on the farm near Cottonwood, MN and got his start in the trucking business with his Dad by hauling livestock to South St. Paul. Wes was married to Barbara Bode on February 12, 1966 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Wood Lake. They moved to Buffalo where Wes was employed by Bjorklund Trucking for several years, and later with various other trucking companies. After 48 years of being an over the road trucker, he retired in 2007. Wes enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, country music concerts, and spending time with his grandchildren. In past years, many happy times were spent with family at the travel trailer on Lake Miltona.
Wes is survived by his wife, Barb; sons Terry of Buffalo, Brian (Molly) of Oak Grove, and Kevin (Jessica) of Princeton; his mother, Helen of Granite Falls; 4 grandchildren Mason, Marissa, Wyatt and Makayla; sisters Margaret (Paul) Lund of Cottonwood, Charlotte (Glen) Morse of Lincoln, CA, Janis (Darrell) Fong of Boise, ID; and his brother Richard (Joan) of Springdale, AR.
He was preceded in death by his father.
