Mr. Ott was born in Lexington County on December 24, 1921 to the late Samuel and Laura Sturkie Ott. He was a loving and wise father, husband, grandfather and brother whose life was dedicated to his family and church. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Gaston where he taught Sunday School for over 70 years.
Mr. Ott died peacefully at his home on Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2017. He is survived by children, Robert H. Ott (Joan), Brenda Bauer (Bill), Susan Smith and Allen B. Ott (Sherrell); granddaughter, Laura Hoffman Willingham (Joby); and sister, Annie Laura Rawls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ella Ott; four brothers; and two sisters.
