CHARITON, IA. - Services for John D. Cook, 71, of Chariton, who died of an intestinal ailment Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Fielding Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fry Hill Cemetery near Lucas.
Mr. Cook was born in Dallas County and lived in Fort Dodge most of his life before moving to Chariton in 1979. He was retired from the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Co.
Survivors include two sisters, Sarah J. Wood of Chariton and Edith Selhaver of Fort Dodge.
