DERMOTT — Frances Hackett, 75, of Dermott, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at St. Vincent's Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock as the result of an automobile accident.
Mrs. Hackett was a native of Montrose, a resident of Dermott since 1979 and a former resident of Portland. She was a nurse at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village having retired in 2000. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and former member of Aulds Baptist Church outside of Portland. She was a founding member of the Hackett Family and was the pianist and vocalist for over 46 years. She was a Christian, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she enjoyed painting, gardening and sewing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Mary Frances Bloomer Matthews and one brother, James Edward Matthews.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Henry Hackett; a son, Henry Dave Hackett Jr., and wife Pamela Kay; three daughters, Zoe Bolin and husband, Joe, Kay Wells and husband, Frank, and Faye Barley and husband, Terry, all of Dermott; a brother, Joe Lee Matthews of Enid, Mississippi; a sister, Mary Holliday of Batesville, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Charity Yvonne Hallman, Brittney Kay Wells, Logan Michelle Elayah, David Ryan Hackett, Crockett Dave Hackett and Asya Murphy; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Blake Wells, Madelin Velora Ann Murphy & Adam Rashad Elayah.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Temple Baptist Church in Dermott with burial in the Portland Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
