Celebrating the life of Buddy Hobbs
Horace O. Hobbs, Sr.
October 19, 1935 to May 2, 2017

Buddy Died at his home in Kerrville, Texas on the evening of May 2, 2017. He was born in Batson, Texas on October 19, 1935 to Horace H. "Goob" and Evia Jewel Norris Hobbs. He grew up around the oilfields of East Texas before settling in Houston. It was here on March 14, 1958 he married Mary Ellen Hoskins. Buddy and Mary Ellen raised their family in West University Place during his working years in the petroleum industry. They retired to Concan, Texas before moving to Kerrville.

Buddy is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Ellen Hoskins Hobbs.

His two children and their spouses, Horace Olan Hobbs, Jr. and Marise of Houston, Texas, Theresa Hobbs Frasch and Neal of New Braunfels, Texas.

His four cherished grandchildren, Horace Hobbs III of Brooklyn, New York, Curren Frasch and Duncan Frasch, of New Braunfels, Texas, and Roselyn Hobbs of Boston, Massachusetts.

His sister, Helyn Hobbs Farris of Eagle Lake, Texas.

His sister-in-law, Audre Ofenloch of Salt Lake City, Utah, brothers-in-law, Martin Hoskins of Arvada, Colorado, and Dennis Hoskins of Campbell, California, their spouses as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evia Jeannine Hobbs Richards.

Buddy treasured time spent with his family. He worked hard throughout his life and was proud of his professional accomplishments. He was a talented musician, avid outdoorsman and traveler. He was known for having a wonderful sense of humor and for sharing stories with all who would listen.

Donations in Buddy's name can be made to Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 in acknowledgment of their support and kindness.
