He was a lifelong farmer and received a life time achievement award from the Union County Beef Cattle Association. He was awarded Master Conservationist from Union County Soil Conservation district. Charles was a member and elder at 1st Christian Church in Sturgis, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Nell O'Nan and 2 brothers Dennis Edward O'Nan and Robert Lee O'Nan.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Dottie O'Nan of Sturgis
1 daughter Marsha Lillian O'Nan Parker and husband Wesley of Oak Grove, KY
1 son Adam Rhea O'Nan and wife Kristi of Sturgis

Funeral service will be 2 PM Sunday 5/28/17 at 1st Christian Church in Sturgis, KY. Rev. Rodney Raymond and Rev. Jeff Bullock will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. Visitation will be 4-8PM Sat. at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY and 12 noon until service time at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
