March 15, 1921 - November 8, 2018

Irving L. "Irv" Breyette Sr., 97, formerly of the Military Turnpike, passed away at his home on Village Drive peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, with loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 15, 1921, the son of Lee and Mary (St. Dennis) Breyette. Irv was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and received a bronze star for valor. He retired in July 1985 as a filter plant operator from Georgia Pacific after 35 years of service. Irv was a member of the VFW Post 125, the Lyon Mountain American Legion Post 1623, the 78th Division Veterans Association, AARP and the Senior Citizens Council. He completed a Virtual Honor Flight Mission, October 2017. Irv was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and rode his Harley until he was 88 years old.

Irv was predeceased by his parents, his wife Norma, a son Irving Jr., his sisters, Eleanor, Louise, Elizabeth and a son-in-law, John Sipe.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Sipe, four grandchildren, Irving Breyette III and his companion Kristen Bechard, Michael Sipe, Patrick (Tiffany) Sipe, Stephanie (Eric) Hall, three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Matthew Sipe, Aleya "My Girl," a daughter-in-law, Debbie Breyette and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment with full military honors will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery.
