Dr. Jules AARONS of Auburndale died Friday, November 21, 2008.
He received his doctorate degree from the University of Paris.
Dr. AARONS worked at the Air Force Cambridge Research Labs from 1950 to 1981 and then joined Boston University as a research professor in the department of astronomy. He published in excess of 100 papers in scientific journals.
He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. In addition to his career as a physicist, Dr. AARONS was an acclaimed photographer with a retrospective exhibition at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln in 2003.
Husband of the late Jeanette (Lampert) AARONS, he leaves two sons, Herbert Gene AARONS and his wife, Rory, of Salinas, California, and Philip E. AARONS and his wife, Shelley Fox AARONS, of New York; his grandchildren, Sam and Solisa AARONS, and Zachary AARONS and his wife, Camilla Gale; and his niece, Donna TORRIS.
He was brother of the late Muriel TORRIS. His funeral service was held Monday, November 24, at the Brezniak-Rodman Chapel, West Newton.
