FRANKLIN - A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Annie B. Abbitt was
conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Robert E. Davis. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge.
Pallbearers were John David Abbitt III, Joshua Pretlow, Pretlow Darden, Robert A. Pretlow, Sidney F. Polland and William T. Woodley III.
Mrs. Abbitt, 89, the widow of John D. Abbitt, died Wednesday night in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Suffolk.
A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Joshua and Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Butler Pretlow.
She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Surviving are a daughter of Mrs. Francis H. Kales of York, Pa.; two sons,
William Henry Abbitt of Richmond and John D. Abbitt Jr. of Franklin; and six
grandchildren.
