Anne "Annie" Lucinda "Lucy" Adams was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Jane Attaway (nee Bond) Adams, Sr. Sister of Benjamin Franklin Jr and Mary Adeline "Addie (Johnson). On 31 January 1897 her mother, Jane, passed away. In November 1897, her father married Lucy Agnes Pope. Annie is the half sister of Bernard Gibbons, John Carroll "Jack", Mary Lillian (Simpson, Brush), Leone Rose (Ryan), James Leonard, Paul Joseph, Catherine Lorena (Forester) and Anne Isabelle "Coosie" (Nivens).

Annie married Francis Eugene Abell on 15 May 1894 in St Mary's County, Maryland. They had 10 children. Sometime between 1920 and 1930 Eugene and Annie separated. Eugene stayed in St Mary's County, living with his niece's family (Mary and Claude Guy). Annie moved with the children to Washington, DC. No record of a divorce. Annie's 1930 and 1940 census shows marital status as widowed, Eugene's as married.

ABELL, beloved mother of Kathleen Russell, Doris Mattingly, Clara Burch, Noema Becker, Agnes Deaton, Margaret Cain, Francis, Raymond, Benjamin and Joseph Abell; sister of Lillian Brush, Leone Ryan, Catherine Forrester, Isabell Sparshott, John and Paul Adams; stepdaughter of Agnes Adams. Also survived by 24 grandchildren. Funeral from the Simmons Bros. Funeral Home, 1661 Good Hope rd. se. (parking facilities) on Saturday, January 7, at 8:30 a.m., thence to St. Teresa's Catholic Church where mass will be offered at 9 a.m. for the repose of her soul. Interment Washington National Cemetery.
