Albert Abplanalp, age 80 of Juda, died Sunday, November 12, 2000 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Albert was born February 24, 1920 in Winkel, Innerkirchen, Switzerland, the son of Albert and Anna (Huber) Abplanalp. He immigrated to the United States in 1959 and married Charlotte J. Baumgartner on February 24, 1951 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.
Albert had worked at several cheese factories before managing the Richland Cheese Factory, south of Monroe, from 1954 until 1964. He farmed within Jefferson Township from 1964 till the time he retired, 1979.
He had been a member of the Monroe Swiss Club. He is survived by: his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Tony Abplanalp and Alex (Sharon ) Abplanalp, a daughter, Charlotte Abplanalp, all of Juda; two granddaughters, Cally and Gracie Abplanalp, both of Madison; several nieces and nephews in Switzerland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Andrew;four sisters, Anna, Margaret, Ida and Bertha and a granddaughter, Kate Abplanalp in 1981.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 16, 2000 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, WO, with Rev. Scheryl Seymour of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe,...
