Houston, Tex., July 30 - Joseph Chandler Adair, aged 31 years, one of the bright young business men of the city, died at the family residence on Friday morning at 11:30 o'clock.
Chandler Adair was born Dec 18, 1888 in this city, and was just entering upon the years of his manhood when overtaken by death. About two years ago he was seized by an attack of appendicitis and an operation proved necessary. It was this which finally proved fatal. He became ill with malaria a few days ago and this was followed by pneumonia, but he appeared to be improving, when complications due to the old operation set in. Friday morning it became apparent that there was but one hope of saving his life, and that lay in a most difficult operation, and again the knife was resorted to. Younf Adair survived the ordeal but for a few moments, death occurring at 11:30 o'clock.
The funeral services will likely be held Saturday afternoon, the cortege moving from the family residence to Sacred Heart Church, where Rev Father Nicholson will officiate. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. The following have been named as pallbearers: Justin White, Warren Buck, Robert Dennis, Lewellyn Neims, Haywood Neims, Charles Rein, Claude Sears and Rufus Cage.
