Eleanor Haila Adamic, 91, of Lakeshore Assisted Living, formerly of East 4th. St., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2007. She was born Dec. 23, 1914 in Hibbing, Minn. She graduated from Hibbing High School in 1932 and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1936. She then taught in the St. Louis County Schools for several years. She married Tony Adamic in 1941 and they resided in Duluth. Eleanor had been a member of the American Cancer Society, the Retired Teachers Association, Ladies of the Kaleva, and the University for Senior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Anthony. Eleanor is survived by nephews, Claude (Paula) Sampson of Des Moines, Iowa, and David Sampson of Chisholm, Minn.; niece, Rosemary Sampson of Duluth; and her brother-in-law, Ed Adamic of Milwaukee, Wis. VISITATION:9 to 11 a.m. Monday in Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hibbing Park (Maple Hill) Cemetery.
