Doris Naomi Adams, age 93, formerly of rural Sikeston, Missouri died July 2, 2017 at North West Arkansas Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas.
She was born September 8, 1923 in Newton County, Arkansas to the late Willis Robinson and May Ogden Robinson.
Doris was born and raised in Newton County, Arkansas and was involved in the family farm. She had moved to St. Louis, Missouri to find employment and then she and her husband moved to Southeast Missouri to start their own farming operation.
On September 25, 1939 in Newton County, she married James Hearold Adams; he survives of Deer, Arkansas.
She is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Verla and Vernie Heydenreich of Deer, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by one son, Wallas Adams who died April 18, 1997; two brothers; and five sisters.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Donald Adams and Rev. Jerry Adams will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be will be Vernie Heydenreich, Mitchell Shaw, Zachary Shaw, Wesley Shaw, Chris Lee and Jerod Tomason.
