He received the Commendation Medal, American Defense Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, Occupation Medal (Europe) World War Two Victory Medal, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal. Retired from the Air Force in 1959 and worked with the sales force of Shenandoah Life Insurance Company from 1959-1962 and worked with South Carolina National Bank from 1963 to his retirement in 1973. He was a charter member and first Treasurer of Mid-South Carolina Retired Officers Association and was a member of the Retired Officers Association in Washington, D.C. and a member of Convenant Presbyterian Church.
