Mrs. Annie Adams, Former Richland Tax Worker,
Dies at 83.

Mrs. Annie Shand Adams, 83, of 3119 Travis Court, widow of Charles Leverett Adams, died Thursday.

Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Gadsden Edwards and Patience Griffin Bonham Shand.

Mrs. Adams attended Bon-Air School, Winthrop College and the University of South Carolina.

She was a life member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and a former member of the Junior League of Columbia and the Assembly. She worked for many years in the Richland County Tax Collector's office.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Renato G. (Anne Shand) Terreni of Columbia; brothers, Gadsden Edwards and Julian B. Shand of Columbia and Robert W. Shand of Arden, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Travis (Patience) Chappell of Columbia; and a grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery, conducted by Canon E. Boyd Coarsey.

Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge.
