Adams-Burrows Nuptial Is Impressive Tuesday Event

A lovely June bride was Alice Lucille Burrows, who was united in marriage to Mr. Carlton Erwin Adams, of LaGrange, in an impressive ceremony solemnized Tuesday morning in the First Methodist Episcopal church. Miss Burrows is the daughter of Mr. Leon Burrows, of New London and Mrs. Elma Smith, of Green Springs, and Mr. Adams is the son of Hazel and the late Erwin Adams, of LaGrange.

Alice and Carlton were married June, 1937.

Alice L. Adams
LAGRANGE – Alice L. Adams,
94, of LaGrange, died Saturday,
March 24, 2007, at home, after a
brief illness.

She was born Feb. 4, 1913, in
New London. Mrs. Adams worked
as an elementary school teacher
in the LaGrange and Penfield dis-
tricts for 22 years.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting,
reading, dancing, her family and
playing the organ. She was a mem-
ber of LaGrange United Methodist
Church and graduated from Ober-
lin College in elementary education.

Survivors include her daugh-
ters Elaine Davis of Wellington
and Alice L. Davis of LaGrange;
son, Russell C. Adams of Curtis,
Mich.; and eight grandchildren,
21 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. She was
preceded in death by her hus-
band, Carlton E. Adams; her
parents, Leon and Edith Burrows;
and one grandchild.

Graveside services at LaGrange
Cemetery are private with Pastor
Steve Costello officiating. There is
no funeral home visitation.

Arrangements by Cowling Fu-
neral Home, Oberlin.

NOTE: Alice is the daughter of Leon Burrows and Elma (Shipman) Burrows. Edith is Leon's 2nd wife.
