COUSHATTA, LA - Services for Dorothy Adcock Dupree will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Coushatta, LA with the Reverend Jonathan King officiating. Interment will be in Springville Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009.

Dorothy was born December 2, 1924 to Sarah Chloe and Daniel Webster Adcock in the community of Martin, LA. She passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Christus Coushatta Health Care Center. "Dot" was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her family.

She was a 1945 graduate of Meadows Draughn Business College. Dorothy was a homemaker and had a love for gardening. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Coushatta and served actively for many years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Daniel Ivy Dupree and one brother, D.W. Adcock.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Dupree Dowling of Shreveport, LA, Cindy Dupree Coffey and husband, David, and Suzan Dupree Simpson and husband, Michael, all of Coushatta; five grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Kendrick and husband, David of Shreveport, Wesley Dowling Houtz and husband, Carlton of Orlando, FL, David Coffey, Jr., Daniel Simpson, and Caroline Simpson; and one great grandchild, Hannah Elizabeth Kendrick.

Pallbearers will be Scott Adcock, David Coffey, Jr., Dr. Carlton Houtz, David Kendrick, Milton McGee, and Daniel Simpson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 487, Coushatta, LA 71019, the Alzheimer's Association, or to a charity of donor's choice.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the love and care given to our mother by Margaret Lewis, Mariah Vaughn, Elaine Durr, Margaret Williams, and the staff of Advantage Home Health of Coushatta. Also, the family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Greg Bell, Dr. Esther Holloway, and Dr. Kenneth Wise.
