Wade Adcox, 17, a student at Trezevant High School in Memphis, formerly of Covington, died of an accidental gunshot wound Wednesday. Bartlett Police Department Captain B. J. Bowen said Adcox was handling a shotgun with a friend at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday at a house in Bartlett when the weapon fired. Adcox was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, where he died at 9:15 p.m. Bowen said the shooting was ruled accidental. He would not release the name of the other juvenile involved. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. He leaves his parents, Mrs. Shelia Adcox of Urbandale, Iowa, and Jimmy Adcox of Covington; a sister, Miss Valerie Adcox of Urbandale, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fortner of Memphis and Mrs. Garnett Adcox of Covington.
