Cora Kate Mumford Aid, age 89 of West Plains, died Sunday at West Plains Memorial Hospital. She was born Sep. 24, 1889, at Farlinville KS, the daughter of the late Ezra Dew Mumford and Louisa Griggs Mumford. She came to West Plains in 1906 and on Jan. 26, 1910, she was married here to Joe Richard Aid, who preceded her in death Jul. 12, 1967.Survivors include two sons, Joe R. Aid, Jr., West Plains; Charles E. Aid, Farmers Branch TX; six grandchildren, Joe Aid, III, Hutchison KS; Mrs. Patricia Rogers and C. Toney Aid, West Plains; Barbara Braswell, Janice Mitchell and Charles Aid, all of Denver CO; eight great-grandchildren; a niece, Mrs. Nadine Saunders, Roanoke VA; and three nephews, Joe D. Mumford, Waynesville; Jack Mumford, St Charles, and Dewey Brown, Philadelphia, MS.Funeral services were held Wednesday in All Saints Episcopal Church with Rev. Dan Brigham officiating.
