Death of Mrs. A. L. Aime, 94, one of Perry's oldest residents, occurred on Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Ritter Nursing Home in Gainesville where she had been under care for three weeks. Death was due to the advancing infirmities of age.
Mrs. Aime had never been ill in her life, never incapacitated for as much as a day because of her health, and had been active until recently when a general breakdown required her removal to Warsaw hospital. She was there three weeks, but diagnosis failed to reveal specific illness and she returned home for a short period before transfer to the nursing home.
She was born in Williamsville, N.Y. on Nov. 6, 1859, a daughter of Frank and Catharina Goldite Bourg. On Sept. 8, 1880, she was united in marriage in Buffalo to Alfonse L. Aime and they came to perry where he established a tailoring business that he followed until his death. In 1881 they built the home at 122 North Main street where she had since resided.
Mrs. Aime was the oldest member of Perry Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, in years of membership as well as age, and a long time member and active worker in the Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lee H. Cotton (Mahree) at home, and one son, Frank, of New York City.
Services were held from the Conrad Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. Earl Beal of the Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in Hope Cemetery.
