Philip (Eary) served in War of 1812 in Capt. Daniel Mathews Company, 116th Regiment of the Virginia Volunteers. He entered service July 7 1813. He lived with his wife on Smith Creek, five miles from New Market, Virginia on the Lewis Zirkle land grant.
He may be buried next to his wife, Elizabeth who is buried in St. Matthews cemetery.
