Funeral at Home of Parents
Funeral services for Mrs. Awilda May Aitken, wife of Arthur Aitken of 1916 Pennsylvania avenue, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thayer, 227 North Bailey street. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
***
From Find A Grave member Nancy Harris:
Awilda's mother was Alice Louise "Lou" (Foster) Thayer. She married James Wilfred "Fred" Albert Thayer about 1894. Awilda was not Fred's natural daughter, although it is possible he may have adopted her at some point. Awilda's mother was possibly married to a Mr. Waldron before she married Fred. Awilda (Elwilda) is listed in the 1900 census with the last name Waldson (sic), and her death certificate gives her father as F. Waldron. Awilda was named for her maternal grandmother.
