Kazuaki "Smiley" Akutagawa was born 01 Jan 1924 in Hilo on the island of Hawai'i to Tutsukuma and Jun Akutagawa and died 02 Mar 2004 at age 80 in Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue, on the island of Kaua'i. He was a delivery man with Yoneji Store. Kazuaki was survived by his caregivers, Joseph and Ethel Farias of Lawa'i, and nephews. His funeral was held graveside 13 Mar 2004 at Kaua'i Veterans Cemetery.
