Card From Aaron Albers Is Received by Parents
The hopes of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Albers for the well-being of their son, Aaron M. Albers, survivor of the USS Houston who was recently released from a Japanese prison camp, were given a boost yesterday by a card, written from the Saigon prison camp in French Indo-China.
In the card, postmarked Aug. 21, Albers, a storekeeper second class, spoke of being in "good condition." He wrote that he was "anxiously awaiting the end of the war," although the card was mailed a week after the war's end.
The card was the first received from the Pittsburg sailor since April. He was released from the Bangkok, Siam, prison camp earlier this month, and at last reports was in Calcutta, India.
Another son, Harold Albers, also a member of the Houston's crew, is still listed as missing in action.
