Born on June 30, 1882, the son of the late George W. and Louise (Hosmer) Alcott, he entered the service of the fire department in June of 1903 as a call man and was appointed a permanent member in August of 1905, being assigned to the Protective company. ..

Alcott of Boston; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Hammer of Lowell; an aunt, Mrs. Emma Hosmer; two nephews, Albert S. Alcott, Jr., and Arthur W. Alcott, and a niece, Dorothy M. Alcott.
