Totsy Lavelle Ingram Alderton, 81 of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo following a brief illness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street in Abilene. A visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors.

Totsy was born to George S. Ingram, Sr. and Myrtle Graves Ingram in Throckmorton, Texas on November 24, 1933. On September 18, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas, she married the love of her life, Jack Ronald Alderton, Sr. and they enjoyed nearly 55 years together. They raised their two children in Big Spring and then in 1978, after a few brief stints in other West Texas towns, they settled in Abilene.

Totsy grew up on a farm in Ackerly, Texas. She went to Howard Payne College and worked for Malone Hogan Clinic in Big Spring for 20 years. Totsy and her husband Jack owned a Property Damage Appraisers franchise in Abilene for 30 years.

Totsy was extremely devoted to her husband Jack, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her Christian faith was foremost in her life and she served as an Elder's wife at the University Church of Christ for 20 years. Totsy loved her roses and enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and working in her yard, and she was an avid Texas Rangers fan.

Totsy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Ingram, her husband Jack Alderton, Sr., brothers Dolph Ingram, Clay Ingram and Lynn E. Ingram, Sr., and a sister, Modesta Snell. She is survived by her children, Jack Ronald Alderton, Jr. of San Angelo and a daughter, Angelia Robison and husband Douglass of Midland; brothers George S. Ingram, Jr. and wife Janie of Abilene and Gibby Ingram of Lubbock; sister-in-law Beth Ingram of Midland and sister-in-law Mary Virginia Alderton of Frostburg, Maryland; grandchildren Leslie Gentry and husband Todd, Blake Alderton and wife Rebecca, Aaron Robison and wife Andrea and Leah Doty and husband Tim; and 9 great-grandchildren, Kelsey Harris, Haley Harris, Faith Gentry, Paige Gentry, Anslee Alderton, Jack Doty, Hank Doty, Magdalene Robison and Rose Marie Robison.

Totsy requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Christian Service Center, 901 Mesquite Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
