On September 18, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas, Jack married Totsy Lavelle Ingram. and they enjoyed nearly 55 years together. They raised their two children in Big Spring and then in 1978, after a few brief stints in other West Texas towns, they settled in Abilene.

Jack and Totsy owned a Property Damage Appraisers franchise in Abilene for 30 years.

As of July 2014, he is survived by his children, Jack Ronald Alderton, Jr. of San Angelo and a daughter, Angelia Robison and husband Douglass of Midland; brothers-in-law George S. Ingram, Jr. and wife Janie of Abilene and Gibby Ingram of Lubbock; sister-in-law Beth Ingram of Midland and sister-in-law Mary Virginia Alderton of Frostburg, Maryland; grandchildren Leslie Gentry and husband Todd, Blake Alderton and wife Rebecca, Aaron Robison and wife Andrea and Leah Doty and husband Tim; and 9 great-grandchildren, Kelsey Harris, Haley Harris, Faith Gentry, Paige Gentry, Anslee Alderton, Jack Doty, Hank Doty, Magdalene Robison and Rose Marie Robison.


Funeral: Jack Alderton Sr., 75, 2 p.m. Aug 6, 2008 at University Church of Christ. Burial in Elliott-Hamil Cemetery Garden of Honor, directed by Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors.
