FAIRHOPE Alma Lunell Aldridge, age 90, of Fairhope, formerly of Northport, died Feb. 12, 2012, at Montrose Nursing Home in Fairhope. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Jimmy Bowers and Rev. Jeff Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at White Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Fayette County with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Aldridge; her daughter, Myra Lynn Hutchens; her father, Oscar Mills; and her mother, Virgie Mills.

Survivors include her daughters, E. Sharon Moore (Don) of Spanish Fort, Patricia A. Thomas (Gary) of Fairhope, and Debra A. Dodd (Ray) of Tuscaloosa; her sons, Roger D. Aldridge (Janet) of Carrollton, Ga., Rick A. Aldridge (Dot) of Daphne, Gary W. Aldridge (Liz) of Helena, and Jeffrey P. Aldridge of Fairhope; her sister, Wiennie Jo Smith of Lubbock, Texas; her brother, Ray L. Mills (Peggy) of Northport; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild with one on the way.

Proverbs 31:28 states, "Her children arise up and call her blessed." Our mother was a great prayer warrior. She prayed for everyone. She was a godly woman who feared God and strived to be the best Christian she could be. She raised her family of eight children in church, and all her children and grandchildren are Christians. She was a great woman of faith and a believer.

She was an excellent cook and had many family gatherings in her home. Her hobbies included flowers, ceramics, and crafts. She was a wonderful homemaker and took her kids to church every time the doors were open. She loved her children dearly and loved to be with her children. She was proud to be a child of God.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hutchens, Randy Hutchens, Bradley Aldridge, Brian Thomas, Joshua Aldridge, and Jordan Aldridge.

Honorary pallbearers are Stella and O'Hara Prewitt, Northport Church of God, staff and friends of Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport, staff and employees of Montrose Nursing Home in Fairhope, and friends and neighbors of Presbyterian Apartments in Northport.
