He was born in Cokedale, CO, to Albert and Candelaria Aleman. He grew up in Trinidad, CO, where he met his future wife, Lu. They married after he returned from his service to the army in WWII. The two raised their family in Westminster. He worked as an executive accountant for Stearns-Roger Manufacturing/Engineering Corp. for 37 years. He has been a longtime and devoted member of the Holy Trinity parish.
His friends knew him as a knowledgeable, loving, and honest man with a ready joke and an impish smile. He enjoyed playing cards and sharing a good hamburger with his grandchildren. He loved to spend time in his garden, analyzing current events, and supporting the Denver Broncos.
Al is survived by his wife, Lu; son Dr. John Aleman and his wife April of Merced, CA; daughter Berta Jost and her husband Dr. Bradley Jost of Dallas, Texas; Preceded in death by his son, Gary. Also survived by sister Eleanor Vierra; brother Arthur Aleman and his wife Magdalena; and five grandchildren: Nathan and Elizabeth Aleman; Garrett, Reed, and Sheridan Jost.
Visitation Thursday, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary, 7 p.m., both at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary. Mass of the Christian Burial, Friday 12 noon, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 Federal Blvd., Westminster. Reception at the church, prior to interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic School, 3050 W. 76th Ave., Westminster, CO 80030.
