Albert Aleshire.

Albert Aleshire died on Monday morning at 4 o'clock at his home in West Point, Ill., after several months of illness. He was 65 years, 6 months and 17 days old. Mr. Aleshire was a son of William and Sarah (Ewing) Aleshire, early settlers in Pilot Grove township, Hancock county, Illinois. Albert was born in that vicinity on December 13, 1853, and spent his youth and early manhood there. He was married in 1882 to Miss Rachel Glass, who survives with a son and daughter, Mrs. Ralph Hinkle and Kenneth, who is with the navy and until recently was stationed in Cuba. Three children preceded the father in death. Out of a family of ten children, but one sister, Mrs. Margart [sic] Ashcraft, of LaHarpe, and two brothers, Ed E. Aleshire, of Kansas City, and Oscar Aleshire of Chicago, survive him. Albert moved his family to LaHarpe in the 90's and they remained three years, during which time he was engaged in the livery business. They went to West Point from here and moved onto a farm. Later Albert engaged in the hotel business and was traveling for a stove company when his health failed last March. Many of our readers will remember him as a wholesouled [sic] fellow and a good citizen.
