Feb 21, 1914 - Sept 21, 2008 Former resident of Hayward Lillian, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21 with her family by her side. Lillian was born in New London, Connecticut, raised in the Azores and returned to the U.S. in 1947 as a widow with her two sons, Manuel and Louis daSilva. She later remarried and had another son, Carlos Alexander. She enjoyed her profession as a seamstress in Hayward for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and annual canning. She was well known for her spunkiness, devotion and love for friends, family and The Lord. She remained faithful to various Portuguese organizations in the Hayward/San Leandro area. Lillian was preceded in death by her first husband Manuel Francisco daSilva and her second husband Antonio J. Alexander and Sister Mami Kohll. She is survived by her sister Cecilia Goulart of the Azores; children Manuel E.F. daSilva (Caroline), Louis daSilva (Mary Clever) and Charlie Alexander (Teresa Walters). She is also survived by many loving grand-children, great grand-children and many nieces and nephews. Please join the family for services honoring Lillian's life beginning with a visitation from 5:00-8:30pm on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. 94544. Funeral mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello St. Union City, CA. 94587 at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, Sept. 25 with entombment to follow at Chapel of the Chimes.
