Monday, 22 December 1997

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Amanda Chapman Alford, 94, of Hokes Bluff, who died Saturday, December 20, 1997. The Revs. Ricky Williams and Bob Harris will officiate. Burial in New Bethel Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Alford was born December 25, 1902 in Etowah County and remained a resident there all of her life. She was the last child of the late Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Chapman. Mrs. Alford was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Scott Alford; son Aaron Alford, and step-son, Loyd Alford.

Mrs. Alford is survived by her son Arvil (Linda) Alford; daughters Billie Pearl (Johnny) Kelley; Mary Lou Garmany and Ida (Dalton) Flowers; step-children, Mason Alford, Robert Alford and Ruby Jenkins; grandchildren, Ricky and Michael Flowers, Tammy (Kevin) Hamilton, Barry (Dane) Alford, Bruce (Deborah) Alford, Greg Alford, Chris (Cynthia) Alford, Bryon (Kathy) Alford, Kenny Alford, Charles (Sandy) Kelley, Rita (Don) Harcrow, Jr. (Debbie) Kelley, Anita (Travis) Morgan, Tim Kelley; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Eulas Cromer; special friends, Barnie and Ophelia Lett and family.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons….
