Colleen Alger Adams passed away peacefully at her home in Parowan, Utah, of natural causes at the age of 75 on November 28, 2015. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her passing.

Colleen was born on September 27, 1940, in the Jessie N. Smith home in Parowan, Utah. She was the daughter of Warren B. Alger and Lorna Lousia Lowe. She graduated from Parowan High School and married her high school sweetheart Rodney Adams in the St. George Temple on May 28, 1960. Together, they had four beautiful children which were raised in the fullness of the gospel and nurtured by her strong testimony and Christ-like example. They lived the majority of their life in Parowan other than a brief four years in Fillmore, Utah.

Prior to starting her family, Colleen worked as a Deputy Recorder at the Iron County Courthouse before subsequently working part time in the Treasurer's office. Her real passion was being a "stay at home mother" and homemaker, showing her devotion and dedication to her number one priority in life, her family.

Colleen is survived by: her loving husband Rodney M. Adams of Parowan, UT; Children, Nicole Morrow (Rob) of Beaver, UT, Diane Lister (Randy) of Parowan, UT, Colette Christian (Keith) of Lighthouse Point, FL, and Mitchell Adams (Lynette) of Parowan, UT; In addition she leaves behind a legacy of 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren whom she profoundly loved and played an active part in each of their lives. Grandchildren include Toni Lister Kirkham (Cody), Colin Morrow (Kacey), Drew Morrow, Ryan Bullard (Amanda), Cole Lister (Molly), Clinton Lister (Nicole), Tyson Bullard, Kory Morrow (Rose), McKenzie Lister Dyches (Matt), Taryn Morrow Buonforte (Hank), Carly Christian Bitton ( Vance), Chelsie Adams, Tristan Adams, Hali Adams; Also survived by her dear and loving sister Norma Baker, brother Max Alger (Cindy) and sister Tammy Holcomb (Roy). She was preceded in death by her parents, Father and Mother-in-law Watson and Veda Adams; sisters Myrna and Mary Jo Alger, brother-in-law Danny Miller, grandson Colin Morrow and brothers-in-law Gordon and Richard Adams.

Colleen loved attending and watching sporting events, especially when her children and grandchildren were participants. Colleen enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and was an avid and proficient bowler spanning nearly 3 decades. She also enjoyed the outdoors, truly appreciating God's creations and marvels. She always loved the yearly Lake Powell trips with family and friends which spanned over 44 consecutive years.

Finally, Colleen was an active and devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in which she held many influential callings and loved those whom she served. She was an active member in the community which also included membership: in the Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers organization.

The family would like to thank all those that rendered medical services and support during her time of need with a special mention of Toni and Cody Kirkham who were able to keep her comfortable during her final hours. We also appreciate the outpouring of all those that have expressed sympathy and condolences to her loved ones during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parowan LDS West Chapel 59 S. 100 W., Parowan, UT. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. also at the chapel. Interment will follow at the Parowan City Cemetery.
