Services are Monday for Antonio "Tony" Aliberti, who died Thursday at his Santa Cruz home. He was 66.
Mr. Aliberti, a native of Italy, came to the United States at age 8. His first school teacher was the late Rita Mattel in Davenport. He worked as an automobile mechanic in Santa Cruz for more than 40 years. His last employment was at the West Side Mobil Service station at Mission and Laurel streets.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Church, the Marconi Club and the Italan Catholic Federation Branch 21.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lola Aliberti; his daughter, Linda Mosso; his brother, Joseph Aliberti; and a grandson, Paul Moss, all of Santa Cruz. He is also survived by an uncle, Mike Giruado of Santa Cruz and by two aunts in Italy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, 126 High St. with Father John Murphy officiating. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Holy Cross Church.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Drive. Soquel.
Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
Contributions to the American Cancer Society, the Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County or to Dominican Hospital, are preferred.
