Alpine ski racer Champion. He was a dominant racer in the late 1930s and is considered the first great French alpine skier. He won three skiing World Championships in downhill, slalom and combined 1937 in Chamonix, France and another combined 1937 in Engelberg, Switzerland. He also won an Olympic medal in the Winter Olympics 1936 in Garsmich-Partenkirchen, Germany.
