George Michael Allegri,Sr., age 73,a native and lifelong resident of Loxley, AL passed away December 28th. He was a graduate of McGill Institute and attended the University of Alabama. Mr. Allegri was involved for over 27 years in the family business, Mobile Beverage Company, which served both Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Following his retirement as President of Mobile Beverage, he served two terms as a Baldwin County Commissioner from 1988 until 1996. He then became the first Director of Baldwin Legislative Constituent Services and was currently serving as a Council Member for the City of Loxley. Mr. Allegri continued his community involvement as a founding member of both the Loxley Optimist Club and the Baldwin County Economic Alliance. He was a Board Member of ARCBC, the Loxley Library and an active member of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he volunteered and served in many capacities, most notably his many hours spent working on the annual Catholic Charities Appeal Fund Drive.
He was preceded in death by his parents A.G. and Anna Guarisco Allegri. He is survived by his wife, Anna Richardson Allegri of Loxley, AL; three sons, Mike (Melissa) Allegri, Jr., of Silverhill,AL, Anthony (Cheryl) Allegri of Atlanta, GA, Brian (Melanie) Lomax of Silverhill, AL; sister, Jo Ann (Wirth) Yarborough of Mobile, AL; brother, Stephen Allegri of Barnwell,AL; sister, Martha (Robert) Hohl of Fairhope, AL and ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Robertsdale, AL Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at 2 PM with Father Pat Madden officiating with burial in the Belforest Catholic Cemetery, Daphne, AL. A visitation will be held at Mack Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 30 from 5 PM until 8 PM. The family wishes to especially thank Golden Living Centers, the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center CVC unit and Covenant Hospice for their professionalism and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loxley Public Library, 1050 E Loxley Ave., Loxley, AL 36551 or St. Patrick's Catholic School, P. O. Box 1367, Robertsdale,AL 36567.
