Born in Raven, VA, the daughter of the late Rosaley and Andrew Newberry, she was a bookkeeper-receptionist at S. C. Cummings in Seaford. She also was the former manager for the Lewes Dairy Markets in Seaford. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Seaford, Elks, and Curves.
She is survived by 2 sons, Darrell L. Morgan of Laurel, DE and Gary A. Morgan of Seaford; 3 sisters, Arbutus McGhee, Richland, VA; Leona Campbell, Louisville, KY and Ellen Harman, Raven, VA; 2 grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Manning Allen in 2005, a brother, Dennis Newberry and a sister, Bertha Newberry.
Services will be Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2pm in WATSON-YATES FUNERAL HOME, Front & King Streets, Seaford, where friends may call Sunday evening from 7-9pm. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.[published 02/28/2009]
